Blender – Modelling, Texturing & Lighting Bullets

My most recent use of blender involved this BlenderGuru tutorial on making bullets, which took me through the process of 3D modelling, applying and modifying textures, setting up scene lighting and compositing output images in Blender. It was interesting getting to grips with these aspects of Blender (as I had not done 3D rendering before) so it was interesting to learn the process and get an outcome from it. The result I got from this is below (click to enlarge):

Realistically textured bullets including normal and specular mapping.

This was a useful process to go through as it took me through modelling and texturing, but also how to use the other aspects of the scene – such as lighting and camera placement – to get the best out of the model produced.
